Lend A Hand

You Can Help!

There are many ways that you can help us to preserve a small piece of the agrarian history of Parma, and North East Ohio. Here are some ways that you can donate time, goods, and of course, money.

Volunteers

Volunteers are always needed, especially for tours of the museums and extra help in the general store. Adult volunteers are needed (on a regular basis) for animal care. For more information, please contact us at 440 845-9770 or 216-233-9818.

Parents and youngsters, you can help out and learn about farm life; join our youth group!

Our Wish List of Goods

Feeding and caring for our animals is always a high priority. We would welcome the following food items:

  • Cheerios
  • Carrots (for the pigs)
  • Fresh lettuce
  • Empty egg cartons (dozen size)
  • Apples (except green Granny Smith)
  • A laptop computer

Buy Feed

You can also make donations to Parma Historic Society at the Wilson Feed Mill. These go directly to cover feed costs.

Our animals also need bedding and grooming items, such as:

  • Straw
  • Packages of animal bedding
  • Canned and dry cat food
  • Small non-tipping metal or ceramic bowls or heavy feed dishes
  • Cloth towels
  • Paper towels
  • Rags for cleaning

The animals would appreciate any and all donations.

Calling All History Buffs!

Are you a history buff? Do you have a few hours to spare to share your enthusiasm for history? The Parma Area Historical Society is looking for a few good people to help with seasonal and event staging and decorate the Gibbs House, serve as a tour guide in the historic houses or clerk in the country store at the Homestead on Sundays during the summer months.

If you can give even a few hours of your time once a month it would be very helpful. Contact Ruth or Carol for more information. 440.845.5522
