We appreciate the support of the members of the Parma Area Historical Society (PAHS) and ask that you join or renew your membership for 2018.
We are an all volunteer group who work diligently to keep Stearns Homestead a Parma treasure for everyone to enjoy, learn about Parma’s history and experience the sights, smells and feel of farming and agriculture for all visitors.
Your membership renewal helps us to maintain the homestead and care for the farm animals that reside at the homestead.
PAHS is organized as a non-profit organization with a seven member board of trustees.
Your membership also gives you a voice in the organization.
Join or renew your membership before April 1, to be eligible to vote at the PAHS Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 8, 2018.
Election for the PAHS Board of Trustees will be held at the April meeting.

In accordance with the By-Laws reviewed and approved by the membership at the April 2017 annual meeting, the mission statement of the Parma Area Historical Society shall be:
1. To bring together whose people interested in the history of Parma;
2. To perpetuate the memory of the pioneers of Parma and its early settlers;
3. To collect, preserve, and attractively simply historical information and to disseminate
this historical information;
4. To educate and provide accurate knowledge of agricultural practices and to preserve and maintain Stearns Homestead as a working farm.
The following programs and activities are scheduled for 2018. We hope you will join us for these activities and visit on weekends starting in May (weather permitting).
April 8 – PAHS Annual Meeting 3:00 pm in the cabin – all are welcome to attend. Slate of Nominations for Board of Trustee will be presented, additional nominations from the floor are allowed. Nominees must be current paid members of PAHS. Membership deadline for eligibility is April 1.
May 20 – Opening Day
First Friday Family Nights – (June – October)
June 9 – Flag Retirement Ceremony – time TBA
June 24 – Ice Cream Social 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the cabin
June 30 – Farm Market Opens 10 am – 2 pm – every Saturday, in the south front pasture
July 14 -15 – Saturday, Heritage Day Art Festival 12:00 – 4:00 pm both days – Sunday, Heritage Day, Family fun, food – Showcase of Parma service organizations
August 18-19 – Rummage & ‘Treasures’ Sale 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Saturday, 12:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday – We will gladly accept your gently used rummage and ‘treasures’ beginning August 1
September 8 -9 – Farm City Days 12:00 – 4:00 pm both days, Farm fun for all ages, food, hayrides, pony rides, etc.
October 6 – Final Day for Farm Market 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
October 7 – Animal Blessing – time TBA
October 13 – 14 – Fall Festival 12:00 – 4:00 pm Pumpkins, apples, apple cider and more.
November 4 – Adoptive Parent Day 1:00 – 3:00 pm – All who adopted a farm animal in 2018 will receive a special invite.
December 1 & 2 – Christmas at the Farm 12:00 – 4:00 pm Christmas shop, photos with Santa, food.

For those of you who missed it on March 3, 2018 ….
Myrtle the turtle dove hatched a very large pinkish purplish bluish egg and to her surprise it was half lion, half eagle, a mythical creature known as a griffin… our guests at the Homestead today heard the whole story, read by Mr Randy, and then colored their very own pinkish purplish bluish egg –
